We get excited about new products from our vendors at FMO – and we can’t wait to make some homemade vanilla extract with the NEW whole vanilla beans from our friends at Down to Earth Foods! We’ve got a great recipe from AllRecipes.com for making your own vanilla infused extract for baking.
1 whole vanilla bean, split lengthwise
1 small bottle of vodka
Place the vanilla bean in the bottle of vodka and seal. Store in a cool, dark area such as a kitchen cabinet for 3 weeks, shaking the bottle every week. Three weeks is the minimum, store it 6 months for the best flavor.
