Tickets on Sale for Summer Farm to Table Dinner

The Annual FMO Summer Farm to Table Dinner will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Dave and Sharon Ballou’s farm outside of Ozark, Mo., from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The dinner includes a four-course meal, carefully created using the finest ingredients grown and raised in the Ozarks by FMO vendors. The dinner is a fundraising effort for the market, which is a 501c3 non-profit organization, and profits will enable to market to organize culinary classes, special events and festivals at the marketplace.

Dave and Sharon Ballou operate New Horizon Farm, which produces hydroponic watercress and lettuces and hanging baskets for the market. The farm will be the host for the summer dinner and will open their farm to the community for farm tours, which include cattle, llamas and hydroponic greenhouses. Guests will dine in the pasture at the Ballou Farm with special musical entertainment from Mark Bilyeu and Cindy Woolf.

“We invite you to come out and enjoy the fresh bounty of the Ozarks,” said FMO Executive Director Lane McConnell. “Our farm to table dinners have become yearly events for families and friends to celebrate in the summer harvest from our FMO vendors and help support our efforts for consumer education at market.”

The menu is an extensive collaboration of the diversity of market vendors and includes donated local beer from Mother’s Brewery and whiskey and wine sampling from Dark Horse Distillery and Whispering Oaks Vineyards.

Course 2: Summer Market Salad from New Horizon Farm
Course 3: Wood-fired oven pizzas from Firelight Pizza Company
Course 4: Dessert: Ronda’s Peach and Cherry Fried Pies with Benissimo Vanilla Bean Gelato

Tickets are limited to 250 and on sale at the market on Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, or purchase tickets online here. Adult tickets are $30 and children 13 and under are $10. No tickets will be sold at the door.  For directions to the farm go here.

Farmers Market of the Ozarks is a non-profit organization that offers consumers a full-range of locally grown farm products from a 150 mile radius of Springfield.
